Article Review 3: Culturally Responsive Teaching Summary : The journey of student success often begins with the teacher-student relationship. Culturally responsive teaching ensures that educators connect with their students even though they may come from different worlds. This connection lets the student know that the teacher cares for them and their success. Christensen shares her experience in a classroom that is all to familiar to educators across the country. Although written several years ago, the setting and conditions presented in the article are still present today. The struggle of large class sizes, electronic devices, and general misbehavior (because of the first two) are very real. The article continues to describe the actions the teachers took to try and get the class on board with creating a sacred learning environment (Christensen, 2012). These actions did not
