Running Head: DISC ASSESSMENTDISC ReportThe DISC is a personality assessment tool that is used to help improve teamwork in the areas communication and productivity. It was based on the foundations that were theorized by Doctor William Marston in the 1920s (DISC Report). His theory was based the belief that peoplecan have any of the four, or combinations, of four main personality traits; Dominance, Inducement, Steadiness, and Compliance. These personality traits are driven by our motor and compass drive. The motor drive represented task oriented or fast paced people and reserved or slower paced individuals. The compass drive represented task oriented or people oriented. The theory states that people may have some prominent within the four personality types. DISC has been widely used among many organizations even some government agencies. Each individual’s profile can help build a stronger and more effective working relationships. The assessment results can help raise self-awareness, improve teamwork, make conflict more productive, develop stronger sales skills, manage more effectively, and train without judgement. It is important to know that this assessment tool serves to improve and not reflect anyone’s style to be the best or worse. It is a mean to get to know our individual traits and learning how our style works with other peoples’ styles. (DISC website)
