Jimmy Belanger February 4, 2008 Anthropology 1100 Extra Credit Major points There were a lot of major points from all the lectures. I think that one major point was the characteristics of culture. I thought that this was very important to help everyone understand anthropology. Culture is a learned series of behaviors designed to cope with the natural and social environments. The six characters of culture focus on central ideas as a proposal. The first characteristic learning, which is called enculturation. This can be broke down into three parts imitation, experimentation, and interpretation. The second characteristic is shared which is core ideas and behaviors must be shared through society. The third characteristic is integrated; most notions and values operate together or in which ways that do not cause major contradictions in how we go about interacting. The fourth attribute is adaptive and always changing. This is when the culture helps you meet both social and physical challenges. Not all the changes meet the needs; some changes
