Govt. 2306 Final Review 1. Grand Jury- Function, number of Jurors The function of the grand jury is to determine whether there is evidence to put a person on trial. Consists of 12 members. 2. Petit Jury- Function, Number of jurors The function of the Petit Jury is to act as a trial jury and find facts by listening to the evidence presented. Consists of 12 people. 3. Disqualifications for jury duty A non U.S. citizen Can’t read or write English Anyone who has committed a felony Anyone who has committed a theft Must be a sane mind 4. Exemptions for jury duty Over 70 years old If you are a caretaker of a child under 10 years old, and your services will leave child unattended Student enrolled and attending
