Kaitlyn Joniak WGS 201Learning Outcome Reflection 110/25/19Reflection #1This week’s readings introduced me to some major feminist concepts, terms, and feministexplanations for social inequality. I learned about terms like intersectional feminism and the role that masculinity and femininity play in our world. I tend to think of feminism in more simple andgeneral terms. However, the book mentioned many different definitions of feminism and various ways of thinking about the movement. After reading, I think I have been challenged to think of everything differently. For example, gender and sex is more complicated that what I originally thought. Intersectional feminism is a term that focuses on not only the classic issue of gender, but many different aspects, such as race, racism, social class, sexual orientation, disability, religion, and age (Scott, 2017). Reading about intersectional feminism has educated me and made me realize that the definition of feminism has broadened over time and gone beyond the classic
