How has learning about the history of research ethics impacted your view of biomedical research? In looking at the studies you reviewed for your PICOT question, do you feel that today’s researchers adequately protect the rights of human subjects? If not, what additional measures do you recommend? According to our lesson, research ethics provides a standard of conduct for researchers to follow when using human subjects as participants (Chamberlain University, 2020). Learning about the history of research ethics has significantly impacted my view of biomedical research. It has taught me to evaluate methods in which participants were handled and ensure that it is ethical and just. Participants should be aware of the studies and its possible implications. Researchers are obligated to ensure that participants are fully aware of the study and what their participation would entail. Researchers must obtain informed consent in order to carry out studies utilizing human subjects as participants. Yip,
