History Final Long Essays: 1. (A) As a romantic writer I chose emotion and passion over reasoning because humans are beings of complexity, emotion, and only sometimes rational. Romanticism emphasized freedom and spontaneity which allowed for a release from the stresses of materialism, science, and industry. Another reason for this is because when experiencing feelings of love and romance it is often difficult or impossible to think rationally and reasonably. (B) I have decided to enlist in the British army in 1914. I have strong national pride and want to show my unity and devotion to my nation by fighting for them. We have strong military and strong alliances that assure us victory in the war. Aligned with powers France and Russia we can easily block off Germany’s supplies because we have forces on both sides of them. Karl Marx focused entirely on society without any attention to the individual. He believed in scientific socialism which means everyone is equal and feels that ownership of private property should be abolished. He wanted to focus on change and felt that revolt from the laborers was coming against the bourgeoisie in order for equality of all people to be achieved. Charles Fournier was also an advocate of socialism he believed that individuals should work together as one, volunteer and cooperates for different tasks to eliminate economic competition and improve society and state as a hole. Woman and men will both have the right to work and earn money and people would be paid according to labor, and talent contributed to society. Hitler was all about the state, he spread nationalistic beliefs and promises of restoring national power and unity. Very militarily based and told the people that with their support he could greatly improve the condition of the state. The writers of the
