THA-Paint Shop Response Paper This past semester I signed up to be part of the paint shop crew. I ended up learning a lot by being apart of it. The two main concepts that I learned from working paint shop for Spring Awakening and Big Love is that there are many phases to props before they are functional and there are many different aspects to make a play a success. The first concept I learned was there are many different aspects that have to be completed before the paint crew could paint. For example, the wood needs to be cut, then the scene shop crew needs to build the props, then the props needs to be sanded, then finally the paint crew can put on a couple layers of paint and a primer on the prop. I realized that there were many different aspects because there were some days where the paint crew had nothing to do because we were the last step in a prop’s process. It was

The second concept I learned was that there are a lot of aspects involved with making a play successful. I just that you needed actors and a stage, but that is not the case. I learned that lighting, sound, scene shop, paint shop, costume designers, and many more are all very important to make a play successful. Especially after watching Spring Awakening, I realized that lighting and sound are very important because they tell the audience how they should feel during certain scenes. Now that I have worked in paint shop I appreciate the production much more. Overall, I thought it was a great decision to join the paint crew and learn more about how a production is set up. The whole process is very interesting and I really enjoyed being a small part of the success of the production....
