Lauren Marley October 18, 2007 English 102-33 Opinions on Abortion Abortion has been considered one of the most controversial issues for many years. In the essay, “We Do Abortions Here,” the author Sallie Tisdale decides to tackle some of those issues. People have many different opinions on this topic. Some people are very dedicated to the rights of women and her body and others believe that abortion should be considered murder. I, however, am somewhat in the middle of the two. Pro-choice is the belief that a woman has the right to choose if she wants to have a baby or not. Some people believe that if a woman becomes pregnant with an unwanted child, then she can simpley go to the doctor and have it removed. They believe that it should not be considered the murdering of a human because the fetus is not a human; it is simply a lump of tissue inside a woman. Those who believe in pro-choice also think that every child should be a wanted child. If the baby is born to a mother who doesn’t want it, then that child might have a very unhappy life. They believe that abortion should never be made illegal because women will just then turn to having unsafe abortions or even trying to do one themselves.
