There are currently 3.5 billion social media users worldwide – which is approximately 45% of the population. Social media has slowly but surely become apart of people’s everyday lives. It has changed the way we interact with friends & family, the way businesses interact with their customers, and so much more. Over the years, disturbing facts about social media have come to light. For example, it has been said that social media can trigger depression and anxiety. Cyberbullying and unhealthy sleep patterns are also amongst the many negative issues that come with social media usage. Studies have also shown that social media has become a cause for health disorders such as scoliosis in the younger generation. Despite all of the negativity that may be tied to social media, the favorable affects don’t receive the same amount of press.
