Tierson 1 The organizations in which I am a member not only help to shape and define who I am, but I also help to shape and define the organizations as well. This symbiotic relationship is best demonstrated through my membership in the Boy Scouts of America. Not only did this group make me a leader, this group has been influenced by my devotion to its founding morals and principles. I am a member of the Boy scouts of America. The Boy Scouts build their community around 12 main pillars of the Scout Law. These are that a scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. I have attended several events while enrolling in this community. These have included NYLT, Philmont, CSAC, Massawepie, Winterfest, and the OA. At these events, I have encountered many interesting people. The foremost in my mind is a boy who goes by the name of Murph. All of these events and some general themes in this community are camping and leadership opportunities. As an Eagle Scout, I have devoted my life to the 12 points of the scout law and have committed to the three parts of the scout oath. In the scout oath I promise that on my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to god and my country and to obey the scout law, to help other people at all times and to keep myself physically strong, mentally
