1 I’d like to thank you for the opportunity to be with you today. It’s a pleasure for me to be back at the University of Waterloo, because I spent many years here doing both my undergraduate and masters degrees and it was at Waterloo that I really found my passion for research. Let me begin by first telling you that I went on to do a PhD at the University of Toronto in Epidemiology, and I now teach and do research in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology at Dalhousie.
