    Definitions The Heat Island Effect -> When temperatures are  consistently higher in the city than in adjacent  locations.  Remote Sensing -> Many characteristics of our  planet can be measured without being in close  proximity. Albedo -> The ratio of the amount of solar  radiation reflected from the ground to the amount  of solar radiation reaching the ground which is  also called the incident radiation. Albedo values  range from 0 to 1. ALBEDO = REFLECTED SOLAR RADIATION /  INCIDENT SOLAR RADIATION
