H.L. Menken- three questions: 1: What is the intention of the artists in relation to content? What are the main points? 2: Do they achieve the intent? 3: Is that intent what we actually need? Cornerstone Faith cycle, justice cycle, hunger cycle. Bridge show, hired playwright to write a play that would be based on the four previous shows in the cycle that would bring back actors from the other plays, not to reprise their roles but just to act in the new play. We have read two of the 5 justice cycle plays. Cornerstone markers: multiple convention narratives woven into a script, Prompt: Cornerstone defines these plays under the rubric of justice. Choose/identify a justice issue within that play, and then argue what you think the cornerstone’s definition of justice is within the context of that issue. What does the author define think is right? 3 questions Someday: One issue, who has the right to have a child, Ruth- poor, single woman with cerebral palsy- should she be able to adopt?
