Jordan Meaux English 1102 April 24, 2013 Professor Jordan Inescapable Fate: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Life is inescapable. In life all everyone does is make memories. Every memory we make and the people who stumble in unexpectedly all mold and shape who we are. So in essence the memories and the people become fate. It is unavoidable. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind demonstrates the power of the memories and people, and the imminent grasps of fate on our lives. Joel may have erased his memories of clementine, but eventually he finds himself migrating towards her, feeling deja vu of past events. The first sign of him being drawn to Clementine is his writing in his journal. Joel says, “Pages ripped out. Don’t remember doing that. It appears that this is my first entry in two years.” Joel began writing in his journal to discuss the relationship between him and Clementine.
