Strong/Weak AI (artificial intelligence) -strong: is a mind (appropriately programmed) -weak: gives us a powerful tool -computer can defend or support weak AI – therefore is a tool 2. Roger Schank – Schank’s program: -Gives the computer the ability (human ability) to understand stories. -His program is about ordering a meal at a dinner -He looks to simulate human behavior – things that are not said -The computer could not answer the questions because it does not have what we have – experience -Computer is given a script (story) and gives answers that thinks will be human behavior
