SOCA 252: Introduction to Physical Anthropology Exam #1 Study Guide; Fall 2007 The exam is composed of 45 multiple-choice (including true/false) questions. You should have a working knowledge of the following terms: know what they mean, how they are related to one another, and what they mean in terms of human evolution. This exam covers materials from the class as well as Stanford et al. chapters 1, 2, 3. This guide and associated lists, while thorough, are not exhaustive. Note that the historical material covered in class SINCE the publication of the theory of evolution by natural selection is NOT covered on this exam. You will not need to know dates. Topic 1: anthropology. You should be able to identify and distinguish the four subfields of anthropology (biological or physical anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, and cultural anthropology).
