Cultural Intelligence, or CQ, as some may refer to it, is the measure of one’s ability and capacity to function effectively in a multi-cultural environment. 1 The driving idea behind this term is that if the ability to communicate is considered an aspect of one’s intelligence and is, in some way, measurable, then one’s ability to communicate cross-culturally is, likewise, important and worth consideration.
