Flynn 1 Justin Flynn English 101-037 November 16, 2007 Paper 2: Technology Cell Phones: Taking Over the World Cell phones have become a part of the society we live in today. As technology changes so does the cell phone. They are becoming part of fashion to have the coolest, newest, and best looking one out there. With so many features available now, like text messaging, email on the phone, and instant messages on the phone, it has become so much easier to communicate with others. Cell phones have come from being a big box in a car that no one wanted, to a small object in your pocket that millions of people have worldwide. The world we live in today is all about technology, and cell phones are a big part of that. Statistics say that nearly one out of every two people holds a cell phone in the United States today. The number of users was over 160 million by 2003 and continues to grow. They have gone from a ridiculous object to try to carry around with you, and extremely expensive, to something that slides into your pocket and you don’t even know its there (Javadi). Cell phone are becoming somewhat of a status symbol, everyone has to have the newest, most stylish phone out there, and if you don’t your just not as cool as the person that does, or so those companies want you to believe.
