McLean 1 Sarah McLean Heather Pristash English 111 September 2006 Essay 1: Observation Essay Walking in to Shadows late night dining center the smell of delicious food rushes out the door, groups of student cluster around tables and walking by only snippets of conversations can be heard between bites of food. Typical conversation includes talk of classes, sports, teachers, relationships, and the newest joke being passed around. It is here that students come for a late night snack and to meet up after everyone is out of classes and work. In every type of clothing from work uniforms to dress outfits to pajamas with their BGSU lanyards around their necks, this is where students are at night. Everyone around campus knows of Shadow’s wonderful food, however few know of the social life that lurks beneath the surface. There is never an issue with finding seating at Shadows, with tall round bar-like tables, and low square tables which can be pushed together to fit any size group everyone is comfortable. The tables are weighed down by trays of food, books, papers
