CONCLUSION Considering the enormous biodiversity resources of Indian traditional system and the high incidence of liver complications, the present review extensively focuses on collection of data for different plants, which are available in India. These medicinal plants claimed as liver protective agents are classified according to their biological source, phytoconstituents; part used and plants in formulations. People from India are still dependent on conventional therapies to treat liver complications. Because of their easy availability and low cost.
