Oil Consumption................................................................ 357 Setting the Oil Consumption Indicator
The Oil Consumption Indicator must be set for all inventory items to
enable you to add the oil usage and calculate the oil consumption rate. # To add the oil usage and calculate the oil consumption rate:
1 From the NALCOMIS OMA Window, open Configuration
Management (see "How to Access the Configuration Management
and Logs & Records Subsystem" on page 128). 2 Click the Inventory Explorer button . -orGo to the File menu, choose Open, and then select Inventory
3 If required, open the aircraft structure and select the applicable
inventory item (for example, engine or gearbox).
4 Click the Inventory Explorer Properties button . -orRight-click the inventory item and select Inventory Properties.
5 Click the Oil Consumption tab and select the Oil Consumption
Indicator. Set the maximum oil consumption in ounces and click
Note: After usage has been applied to the item through Inventory
Properties or through a usage record such as NAVFLIR or Manual Flight
Document, you can create oil added entries. In order to see the calculated
oil consumption rate for NAVFLIR (at the aircraft level) or for a Manual
Flight Document (applied at the aircraft or assembly level), they must be

The Create Oil Consumption option enables you to add oil usage entries
to the Oil Consumption tab. # To add oil usage entries to the Oil Consumption tab:
1 Open the Aircraft VED (see "Open a VED" on page 342) (or
Uninstalled VED for uninstalled engines and gearboxes). 2 For aircraft installed inventory items, select the applicable aircraft,
right-click in the tree view, and select ADB. For uninstalled
inventory items, open the Uninstalled VED, select the applicable
engine or gearbox, right-click in the tree view, and select Oil
The Oil Consumption window appears (for all inventory items that
have the Oil Consumption Indicator set).
Note 1: If a prompt appears indicating that the inventory item does
not have any installed inventory with the Oil Consumption indicator
set, select OK. To set the Oil Consumption Indicator, see Setting the
Oil Consumption Indicator (on page 360).
Note 2: If a prompt appears stating that the inventory needs initial
usage values assigned before oil consumption can be assigned, open
Configuration Management (see "How to Access the Configuration
Management and Logs & Records Subsystem" on page 128), click
the Inventory Properties button, and click on the Usage tab.
