Usage Parm Tab The Usage Parm tab in the Assembly Explorer and WUC/UNS dialog box enables you to assign, view or modify properties, or unassign usage parameter for the selected inventory item or the created WUC/UNS. Usage Parameters are the life-limiting units used to track the removal or scheduled inspections of life limited components. These parameters are assigned to a data source for a particular aircraft. Only one data source of each type should be created for each aircraft, and usage parameters trickle down to associated sub-assemblies. For procedures on this tab, see the applicable topic listed under "In This Section." Modify Usage Parm Properties The Usage Parm tab enables you to view or modify usage parameters. For procedures, see Usage Parameter (on page 253). Assign a Usage Parm The Assign Usage Parm option in the Assembly Explorer or WUC/UNS dialog box (Usage Parm tab) enables you to assign a usage parameter to a selected assembly or component. For Assembly Explorer 1 Open the Assembly Explorer (see "How to Access the Assembly Explorer" on page 266). 2 Select the assembly item from the tree view and click the Usage Parm tab. 3 Select a usage parameter and click Assign Usage Parm. The Usage Parm Assignment dialog box appears listing all possible usage parameters that may be applicable to the selected assembly. 4 Select the appropriate usage parameter and click OK. For WUC/UNS dialog box 1 Open the Assembly Explorer (see "How to Access the Assembly Explorer" on page 266). 2 Right-click the assembly item from the tree view and select WUC/UNS Properties. The WUC/UNS dialog box appears with various tabs. 3 Click the Usage Parm tab. 4 Click Assign Usage Parm and the Usage Parm Assignment dialog box appears. 5 Select the appropriate usage parameter and click Apply or OK. This process adds the selected usage parameter under the Usage Parm block. For more information, see Usage Parm Assignment (on page 256). Unassign a Usage Parm The Unassign Usage Parm option on the Usage Parm tab in the Assembly Explorer or WUC/UNS dialog box enables you to remove an assigned usage parameter to a selected assembly or component. # For Assembly Explorer 1 Open the Assembly Explorer (see "How to Access the Assembly Explorer" on page 266). 2 Select the assembly item from the tree view and click the Usage Parm tab. 3 On the Usage Parm tab, select the usage parameter you want to remove, and then click Unassign Usage Parm.
