Unformatted text preview: hen performing the initiation, the system either automatically assigns or not the JCN and MCN to the work order. If no JCN is assigned, the work order will need to be listed on the Maintenance Control JCN/WC Assignment (see "Maintenance Control JCN/Work Center Assignment" on page 349) awaiting JCN. The following topics describe procedures for initiating any work order against aircraft, uninstalled equipment, SE, ALSS, or MME item. Itemspecific variances are included in these procedures. Once a work order is initiated and assigned both JCN and MCN, it can then be retrieved from the Active Work Order Query window to enter data in each section. When retrieving an existing work order, the system defaults to the Basic Work Order Update window. For procedures on establishing data, see Basic Work Order Update (on page 421). 1 Open the specific VED (see "Open a VED" on page 342). 2 On the VED, right-click the specific item icon in the ORG column or the Modex or BUNO entry (for aircraft), or the Serno entry (for SE, ALSS, or MME), and then select Initiate and the work order type. 3 For non-aeronautical equipment, right-click an icon from either SE or ALSS, and then select Unscheduled Maintenance. 442 User Guide Optimized NALCOMIS OMA The appropriate window appears to enter data for the work order. On the Recurring Work Order Selection window, the selected Modex (for aircraft) or BUNO/Serno (for SE, ALSS, or MME) appears along with the associated recurring work orders already existing in the database. In both situations, the Assy Cd and BUNO/Serno fields are prefilled. If you leave the WC and WUC/UNS fields blank, all recurring work orders that pertain to either Modex or Assy Cd appear. Note: If the recurring work order involves an assembly that is installed on the end item (Aircraft/SE/ALSS/MME), click the Assembly button to select the assembly code, for example Engine, APU, or Propeller from the drop-down list that enables you to use the appropriate WUC/UNS of the assembly vice the end item. 3 Check an option in the Up/Down/Partial Ind block. 4 If you want to sort the columns, click the Sort By button and follow procedures in Sort (on page 139). The system also displays the list of discrepancies for the selected Modex or Assy Cd. 5 To select a discrepancy, select the item, go to the Actions menu, and select Initiate Recurring WO or click the Initiate Recurring WO button .
