Unformatted text preview: baseline WUC structure changes. To perform this process, you must drag the component from the old WUC location to the new WUC location. Note: At times after the inventory is created, the BLM may need to make a change to the existing WUC hierarchical structure. First, you should be notified directly from the BLM by e-mail when a WUC structure has been modified. Before moving the existing inventory to a new WUC location, verify that all the baseline changes have replicated by viewing the baseline WUC structure changes in the Assembly Explorer. If the changes have not replicated, contact your BLM for verification that the changes have occurred and/or contact SPAWARSYCEN Norfolk for questions concerning replication software. Once the baseline WUC structure changes are visible in the Assembly Explorer, you are ready to update your installed components. 1 Open the Inventory Explorer (see "How to Access the Inventory Explorer" on page 193). 2 Open the tree view to the new WUC location. The HAS PART NUM icon appears. 3 Open the tree view to the old WUC location and select the specific component in the tree view that you want to move. 200 User Guide Optimized NALCOMIS OMA Note: If the installed component has an existing scheduled RMVL task (hi-time removal), place the task in an Active status (not Pending) before dragging the installed component to the new WUC location. If it does not have a scheduled RMVL task, go to step 4. 4 Drag the installed component to the new WUC location and drop it in the new WUC location. The Task [NEW] dialog box appears and the Task Class box displays RMVL. 5 In the Task Name box, enter Removal, in the Task Subclass box, select Removal, and in the Completion Date box, enter the completion date. Click OK. The Password Verification dialog box appears. 6 Type your user ID and password and click OK. The Task Status Authorization dialog box appears with a default status of Complete. 7 Click OK. The process completes the RMVL task and initiates the INST task. The Task [NEW] dialog box reappears and the Task Class box displays INST. 8 In the Task Name box, type Install, in the Task Subclass box, select Install, and in the Completion Date box, enter the completion date. Click OK. The Password Verification dialog box reappears. 9 Type your USER ID and password and click OK. The Task Status Authorization dialog box appears with a default status of Complete. 10 Click OK. The component is now installed at the new WUC location. Note: If the BLM removed the old WUC location, it will disappear from the tree view once the installed component has been moved to the new location. Also, the drag and drop process will not work if the BLM changes the inventory class of the installed component; for example, if the new WUC location requires an ASSY Class inventory item and the old WUC location has a TRK Class inventory item installed. The user will be forced to delete the old inventory item and create new inventory for the new WUC location...
