When installed, you can read/write cage, part number and serial number identifying information to the MacSema Buttonlaser reader for further transfer to Contact Memory Buttons (CMB) and Bar Codes. Send Data to ButtonLaser The Send Data to ButtonLaser option is accessed through Configuration Management, Utilities menu or Inventory Explorer using the right-click feature to select the end item (aircraft and assembly). If you select either process, the ButtonLaser Load window appears and allows you to select the component information that you want to send to the ButtonLaser Reader. From the NALCOMIS OMA Window, open Configuration Management (see "How to Access the Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem" on page 128). From the Utilities Menu 1 Go to the Utilities menu, choose ButtonLaser Tools, and select Send Data to ButtonLaser. 2 The ButtonLaser Load window appears with a listing of all end items (aircraft and assemblies) and a listing of components under the Inventory Subcomponents tab. 3 Right-click the selected component from the listing under the Inventory Subcomponents Tab and select Send to ButtonLaser or click on the Send to ButtonLaser icon. 4 The MacSema, Inc. Status Window appears as the component's identifying information is sent to the ButtonLaser Reader. Chapter 4 Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem 133 5 Click OK on the prompt informing you that the part data was successfully received by the ButtonLaser. From the Inventory Explorer 1 Open Inventory Explorer (see "How to Access the Inventory Explorer" on page 193), right-click the selected end item (aircraft or assembly), and select Send Item to ButtonLaser. 2 The MacSema, Inc. Status Window appears as the component's identifying information is sent to the ButtonLaser Reader. 3 Click OK on the prompt informing you that the part data was successfully received by the ButtonLaser. ButtonLaser Load The ButtonLaser Load window appears with a listing of all end items (aircraft and assemblies) and a listing of components associated with the selected end-item under the Inventory Subcomponents tab. There is also one command button (Send Item to ButtonLaser). For procedures, see Send Data to ButtonLaser (on page 132). Retrieve Data from ButtonLaser The Retrieve Data from ButtonLaser option is accessed through Configuration Management, Utilities menu or Inventory Explorer – Create Inventory using the right-click feature to select the component information. If you select either process, the component information is received from the ButtonLaser Reader. The ButtonLaser File Reconciliation window enables you to verify component information received from the ButtonLaser Reader and the OOMA database.
