Overview of Optimized NALCOMIS OMA - Optimized NALCOMIS OMA Subsystems - Flight Subsystem This subsystem captures and tracks the type and amount of flight time against aircrew and aircraft, and keeps track of training for the flight crews. This is accomplished through the Flight Document. This also includes the export and import of aircrew personnel flight data and interface with SHARP/FIST-capable activities. The Flight Subsystem also features the Scheduler, which enables the organization to automate flight scheduling and flight event planning as far as a month in advance. This subsystem supports all requirements of the CNAFINST 4790.2 and OPNAVINST 3710.7 (series) for reporting valid flight information. For procedures in accomplishing tasks in the Flight Subsystem, see Flight Subsystem Description (on page 59). 6 User Guide Optimized NALCOMIS OMA Overview of Optimized NALCOMIS OMA - Optimized NALCOMIS OMA Subsystems - Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem This subsystem offers tools to manage aircraft and component configuration. It provides an accurate listing of all components on the aircraft that are considered "tracked" items. This includes life-limited components that require continual tracking of usage indicators for life limited components. The subsystem also maintains the history records of configuration items. Configuration Management can also be used to forecast upcoming scheduled maintenance for an organization's end items. It tracks all changes and technical directives incorporated into a component. Records for the individual components as well as the end items are stored as Logsets. It also has the capability to track aircraft material condition through XRAY Reporting as delineated by OPNAVINST 5442.2 (series). For procedures in accomplishing tasks in Configuration Management and Logs & Records, see Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem Description (on page 127). Overview of Optimized NALCOMIS OMA - Optimized NALCOMIS OMA Subsystems - Maintenance Subsystem This subsystem enables personnel to document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance against aircraft and end items. It lists parts and maintenance actions required to fix discrepancies and track tool and personnel accountability. It provides squadron detachment processing and the combining of multiple organizations into one maintenance unit. It allows the activity to be divided into components to operate separately. It provides material control processing interface between NALCOMIS OMA and supply centers to track items on order against an activity's end items. This subsystem supports all requirements of CNAFINST 4790.2 for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. For procedures in accomplishing tasks in Maintenance Subsystem, see Maintenance Subsystem Description (on page 341).
