It also displays the following buttons: Create Usage Parm, Duplicate Usage Parm, Usage Parm Properties, Assign Usage Parm, or Unassign Usage Parm. This dialog box enables you to associate a data source with the appropriate usage parameters and whether or not to assign it. 1 Modify the Name of the Data Source as needed. 2 Select the appropriate option and click the applicable topic for procedures: ! Create Usage Parameter (on page 254) ! Modify Usage Parameter (on page 256) ! Duplicate Usage Parameter (on page 255) ! Assign Usage Parameter (on page 256) ! Unassign Usage Parameter (on page 256) Unassign Data Source The Assembly Catalog Data Source tab enables you to remove a data source from a selected assembly. 1 Open the Assembly Catalog (see "How to Access the Assembly Catalog" on page 247). 2 Click the assembly item in the tree view to display the associated data sources and usage parameters. 3 On the Data Source tab, click the specific data source to remove, and then click Unassign Datasource. 4 On the Data Source [Unassign] dialog, click the specific data source to remove, and then click Apply or OK. The data source disappears from the listing. Chapter 4 Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem 253 Data Source [Unassign] This dialog box enables you to remove a data source from an assembly. The system automatically removes the selected data source from the assembly listing. For procedures, see Unassign Data Source (on page 252). Delete Data Source Deleting a data source is accomplished from the Reference Term Editor. For procedures, see Data Source Editor (see "Data Source" on page 252). Usage Parameter Usage parameters are the life-limiting units that life limited components/scheduled inspections are tracked by. They are assigned to a data source for a particular aircraft. Only one data source of each type should be created for each aircraft and usage parameters trickle down to associated sub-assemblies. When you access a data source record for an assembly, the Data Source dialog box displays the usage parameters related to the data source. The Data Source dialog box displays task buttons to enable you to create, duplicate, delete, view or modify, and assign or unassign usage parameters. The following blocks display: Usage Parm Identity The usage parameter code, usage parameter name, and bitmap. Usage Parm Detail The Domain Type, Engineering Unit, and Description block. For task procedures relating to usage parameters, see Usage Parm (on page 254). 254 User Guide Optimized NALCOMIS OMA Usage Parm The Usage Parm dialog box in the Assembly Explorer or WUC/UNS window enables you to identify and describe the usage parameter assigned to a selected data source when creating, viewing or modifying, duplicating, and assigning or unassigning usage parameters.
