Unformatted text preview: transfer of inventory items and/or personnel has started, click OK. The aircraft, equipment, and/or personnel temporarily appears on the OUTBOX selection group with Ready status. 5 After you save the detachment data to a file, see Send Detachment to a Tape/CD/E-Mail (on page 172). REMINDERS: Anytime before you perform the Send Group To Tape process, you can remove items from the saved files and return them to the PRIMARY selection group. However, removing all the items automatically cancels the detachment. Once you save the file to a tape or e-mail, you cannot save aircraft or personnel directly to the saved file. You must use Augment to assign additional aircraft or personnel. Ensure that the tape is blank before using it by following the Tape Erase from the NT Backup procedures described in the NALCOMIS OOMA System and Database Administration Guide. For more information, see Deploy a Disconnected Detachment (on page 165). 182 User Guide Optimized NALCOMIS OMA Save Items to Files The Save Items to Files option from the OUTBOX selection group enables you to transfer inventory items to a remote site when there is no connectivity or replication capability. It enables you to save the item's data to a file and then load the file to a medium (tape or E-mail). 1 Open the Group Explorer (see "How to Access the Group Explorer" on page 151). 2 Click the OUTBOX selection group and click the Inventory tab. A list of inventory items in Await to be Transferred status appears. 3 Right-click the inventory item that you want to transfer and select Save Items to Files. 4 Click OK on the Store to Disk prompt. 5 Select the report to view or print when the Det Processing/ Item Transfer Report dialog box appears, or click Cancel to continue. 6 Click OK on the Messenger Service prompts stating that the transfer has started. The transfer status changes to Ready. 7 Click OK when the Messenger Service prompt reappears stating that the transfer is completed. 8 Go to the Actions menu and select Refresh to refresh the screen display. 9 Click the SENT selection group to check if the item was successfully transferred. 10 Once the item is saved to a file, see Send Items to Tape/CD/E-mail (on page 182). Send Items to Tape/CD/E-mail This option from the Offloaded Items tab of the OUTBOX selection group enables the SA or any other authorized personnel to send a file to a medium (tape/CD/E-mail). Currently, you can only send a file to tape or e-mail; CD will be included in a future release. This step is needed to load to another site server that does not have replication capability. 1 Open the Group Explorer (see "How to Access the Group Explorer" on page 151). 2 Click the OUTBOX group and click the Offloaded Items tab. A listing of all items ready to send to a medium appears with YES or NO under the On Media column. Items with NO are the ones eligible for the process. 3 Right-click a selected item and select Send Items To Tape. The Save To Media prompt appears...
