Note: To save time when collapsing or expanding the tree view, click or only on the item. Both Collapse All and Expand All go through the complete database and take longer to process. Chapter 4 Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem 143 Search for an Item The Item Search utility in the Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem enables you to search for an inventory item using the following: Entities, Assembly Code, Database Name, Serno, or WUC/UNS. The Database Name is derived from the databases that exist in the WAN Explorer. 1 Go to the Tools menu and select Item Search or click the Search button . 2 The Item Search dialog box appears with two fields and the following command buttons: Filter Opens the Filter dialog box. Goto Displays a located item. Stop Aborts the search process. Search Searches for an item. Close Closes the Search utility. 3 Select the entity from the list. The dialog box title name changes to Search Utility. 4 Enter the Value. If the Dual checkbox is available and checked, then two values may be entered. Click Search. Note: You can enter a percent sign (%) as a wildcard character before or after the search value...
