Unformatted text preview: name is 4 characters or less, the system assigns your login ID using your first initial, then your last name, then the number "1" to make up for the minimum requirement of 6 characters. For example, if your name is John M. Doe, your login ID is jdoe11. ! If your last name is more than 7 characters, the system assigns your login ID using your first initial, then the first 7 characters of your last name to make up the maximum requirement of 8 characters. For example, if your name is Charles W. Thomason, your login ID is cthomaso. ! If there is more than one user with the same last name and first initial, the system assigns the second user's Login ID using the same conventions stated above by deleting the last character in the name and replacing it with a 1. Note 1: The application system reminds a user to change his/her password seven (7) days prior to the 90th day the last password was changed to ensure that the system's security is preserved. Note 2: The system retains the last 10 passwords used by each user to avoid duplication. Note 3: Your password should be alphanumeric, special characters, and case sensitive. It should contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, a number, a special character, and a mix of alphanumeric and/or special characters to make up a minimum of eight (8) and a maximum of 16 characters. Change User Password Once you are added as a user to the Optimized NALCOMIS OMA system, you can change your password when prompted during the initial login process. Changing your password at any time you access the system or when the password reminder prompts you on the 83rd day and/or prior to the 90th day, password expiration date and time is necessary to maintain the system's security. 1 On the NALCOMIS Login window, type your login ID and current password in the Login ID and Password boxes. 2 Click Change. 3 On the Change Password prompt, type your new password and press Enter. 4 Re-enter your new password and press the Tab key. Reset User Password The SA or any other authorized personnel can perform this task when users forget their passwords. This process then enables a user to log in with a new password. System Administrator 1 On the NALCOMIS Login window, type your login ID in the Login ID box, type your password in the Password box, and then click Reset. 2 On the Reset Password dialog box, click OK. 3 Type the login ID of the user whose password is being reset and click Reset. 4 In the Reset Password prompt stating that the reset process was successful, click OK. User 1 Type your OMA login ID name in both the Login ID and Password boxes. 2 Click Login. 3 On the Change Password prompt, type your new password and press Enter. 4 Re-enter your new password and press Tab. 5 Click OK or press Enter.
