click the Create Task button . Chapter 4 Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem 219 4 In the Task Creation dialog box, select the task definition that you
want to create and then click OK.
5 In the Task [NEW] dialog box Definition 1 tab, enter the task name
in the Task Name box, select the task subclass in the Task Subclass
box, and select the task status (if other than "Pending" which is the
default) in the Task Status box, and then click OK.
6 In the Task Status Authorization dialog box, click OK.
7 The task is now created and appears on the Inventory Explorer Task
This dialog box enables you to create a task against an inventory item that
has not been entered into the optimized NALCOMIS OMA system as
long as its inventory, task, task plans, and usage parameter baseline are
already established. Without the baseline, a task cannot be created.

Modify Task Properties
The Inventory Explorer Tasks tab enables you to view or modify task
properties for an inventory item.
1 Open the Inventory Explorer (see "How to Access the Inventory
Explorer" on page 193). 2 Click the inventory item in the tree view to display the related tasks
on the Tasks tab.
3 On the Tasks tab, right-click the task and select Task Properties, or
click the task and Task Properties button . 4 On the Task [ ] dialog box, enter changes in the applicable tabs and
fields as needed.
5 On the Details tab, you can change the status at this point if the one
displayed needs updating.

This dialog box enables you to establish, and to view or modify the
identity, definition, and status of a selected task.

Deadlines, Parts, and Status History tabs, a shortcut menu appears with
common functions. These selections are also available as toolbar buttons.

This dialog box displays the following tabs:
Details Enables you to view information on the task's name, subclass,
and present status. Deadlines Enables you to view or reset the date or counts the task is to be
performed. When the Driver box is checked, it indicates that it
is the component/item that causes the removal of the whole
assembly. Parts Enables you to include parts that may be required to accomplish
the task. Status
History Enables you to view the status changes that occurred for the
task Definition 1 Displays the predefined task established in the baseline. This
