Chapter 4 Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem 275 Modify Part Number Properties The Part No Properties option in the Assembly Explorer and WUC/UNS dialog box and the Part Properties option on the Parts Catalog enable you to view or modify the properties of a part number that exists in the database. # To view or modify the properties of a part number that exists in the database in the both the Assembly Explorer and WUC/UNS dialog box: 1 Open the Assembly Explorer (see "How to Access the Assembly Explorer" on page 266). 2 Right-click the item in the tree view and select WUC/UNS Properties or click the WUC/UNS Properties button . 3 Click the Part No. tab on the WUC/UNS dialog box. 4 Right-click the specific part number and select Part No Properties, or click the part number and Part No Properties button . The Part [ ] dialog box appears with prefilled fields. 5 On the Part [ ] dialog box, click each tab and enter changes as needed. 6 Click OK. # To view or modify the properties of a part number that exists in the database on the Part Properties option in the Parts Catalog: 1 Open the Parts Catalog (see "How to Access the Parts Catalog" on page 298). 2 Right-click the specific part number and select Part Properties or click Part Properties. Assign a Part Number The Assign Part No option from the Assembly Explorer or WUC/UNS dialog box Part No tab enables you to assign a part number to the Parts Catalog with sub-WUC/UNS. For Assembly Explorer 1 Open the Assembly Explorer (see "How to Access the Assembly Explorer" on page 266). 2 Right-click the part on the Part No. tab and select Assign Part No., or click the Assign Part No button . The Part No Assignment dialog box appears. 276 User Guide Optimized NALCOMIS OMA 3 Type the Part No and associated attributes and click OK. This process attaches the part number to a specific WUC/UNS and makes it available for creation of an inventory item. For WUC/UNS dialog box 1 Open the Assembly Explorer (see "How to Access the Assembly Explorer" on page 266). 2 Right-click the item in the tree view and select WUC/UNS Properties or click the WUC/UNS Properties button . 3 Click the Part No. tab on the WUC/UNS dialog box. 4 On the Part No tab, right-click the Part No. and select Assign Part No. or click Assign Part No. The Part No Assignment dialog box appears with blank fields. 5 Enter any known information or use the wild card feature to get a part number and other data. 6 Click Apply and OK. This process attaches the part number to a WUC/UNS and makes it available for creation of an inventory item.
