Remove a Site Server from the Local Address Book (on page 149) WAN Explorer - Procedures The WAN Explorer enables you to perform tasks depending upon permissions (SMQs) assigned to you. Tasks options are available from the Edit menu or from a shortcut menu that appears when you right-click the list of organizations on the left side. When you right-click any item on the tabs (except Database Description), a shortcut menu appears with common utilities and functions. These utilities and functions are also available as toolbar buttons. For procedures, see Common Utilities and Functions in Explorers and Catalogs (on page 129). To perform tasks in the WAN Explorer, see the applicable topic listed under "In This Section." WAN The WAN dialog box appears when the Detachment Properties is selected from the Edit menu or when you right-click the selected site in the Local Address Book tab. Chapter 4 Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem 149 Add a Site Server to the Local Address Book You can add site servers that you frequently deal with relative to transfer of inventory items (aircraft, equipment, components, or personnel) to your activity's local address book. Note: In order to transfer any asset to another site, that site must be included in the Local Address Book. The application utilizes the Local Address Book to display a listing of receiving sites during the transfer process. # To add site servers to your activity's local address book: 1 Open the WAN Explorer (see "How to Access the WAN Explorer" on page 145). 2 Click the Local Address Book tab. 3 Expand the main USNAVY Server and select the appropriate organization you want to add to your local address book. 4 Right-click on the selected organization and select Add to Local Address Book. -orGo to the Edit menu and select Add to Local Address Book. 5 At the prompt to add the address to your local environment, click Yes. The address appears in the Local Address Book. For more information, see Local Address Book Tab (on page 147). Remove a Site Server from the Local Address Book You can remove sites that are no longer applicable to your organization from your activity's local address book. 1 Open the WAN Explorer (see "How to Access the WAN Explorer" on page 145). 2 Click the Local Address Book tab. 3 Expand the main USNAVY Server and select the appropriate organization you want to remove from your local address book. 4 Right-click on the selected organization and select Remove From Local Address Book.
