Unassign Usage Parameter (on page 256) Create Usage Parameter The Data Source dialog box enables you to create a new usage parameter for a selected data source. 1 Open the Assembly Catalog (see "How to Access the Assembly Catalog" on page 247). 2 Click the assembly item in the tree view to display the associated data sources and usage parameters. 3 To select the data source and display the Data Source [ ] dialog box, see Data Source (on page 252). 4 On the Data Source [ ] dialog box, click the usage parameter in the Usage Parm block. 5 Click the Create Usage Parm button . The Usage Parm [New] dialog box appears with blank fields. 6 On the Usage Parm [New] dialog box, enter information in the applicable fields and a brief narrative in the Description block. 7 Click Apply or OK. The new usage parameter record appears in the Usage Parm listing. Also available are utilities and functions common to the other explorers or catalogs. For procedures, see Common Utilities and Functions in Explorers and Catalogs (on page 129). Chapter 4 Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem 255 View Usage Parm Properties The View Usage Parm Properties option on the Usage Parm tab in the Assembly Explorer or WUC/UNS dialog box enables you to view the properties of an assigned usage parameter. # For Assembly Explorer 1 Open the Assembly Explorer (see "How to Access the Assembly Explorer" on page 266). 2 Select the assembly in the tree view and click the Usage Parm tab. 3 On the Usage Parm tab, select a usage parameter and click the Usage Parm Properties button . The Usage Parm [ ] dialog box appears with the Detail tab showing the properties associated with the selected usage parameter. 4 Click OK. # For WUC/UNS dialog box 1 Open the Assembly Explorer (see "How to Access the Assembly Explorer" on page 266). 2 Right-click the assembly in the tree view and select WUC/UNS Properties. 3 Click the Usage Parm tab on the WUC/UNS dialog box. 4 On the Usage Parm tab, click the Usage Parm Properties button . The Usage Parm [ ] dialog box appears with details on the selected usage parameter. Duplicate Usage Parameter The Data Source dialog box enables you to use the attributes of an existing usage parameter to create a new one. To select the data source and display the Data Source [ ] dialog box, see Data Source (on page 252). 1 On the Data Source dialog box, click the specific usage parameter in the Usage Parm block. 2 Click the Duplicate Usage Parm Properties button . 3 On the Usage Parm [Duplicate] dialog box, enter the new Usage Parm Code and Usage Parm Name. 4 Select the Engineering Unit from the available list and type a brief narrative in the Description block. 5 Click...
