Unformatted text preview: Work Order The Inspections/Removals option on the VEDs enables you to initiate or query all inspections against Aircraft, SE, ALSS, MME, and Uninstalled Equipment items or initiate component removal for all, except Uninstalled Equipment items. Inspections are based on the established +/-3 days (days/weeks/month/year) interval codes. Component removals are based on the established +/-10 percent (hourly/event) interval codes. 1 Open the specific VED (see "Open a VED" on page 342). Chapter 5 Maintenance Subsystem 449 2 Right-click the Modex or Serno, choose Initiate, then Inspections/Removals, and select Aircraft Inspections or Component Removals. The appropriate window appears depending upon your selection. For procedures, see the applicable topic listed under "In This Section." Inspections - Aircraft This window appears when you initiate a near due inspection work order against aircraft. The Initiate>Aircraft Inspections option enables you to query near due inspections. Usage values in the Maintenance Subsystem displays 3 digits to the right of the decimal when the usage requires it (3456.917). In some cases where the usage value is only in tenths, the usage displays in either tenths (3456.9) or 3 digits (3456.900). For procedures, click the following topics: ! Initiate a Preservation/Depreservation Inspection for Aircraft (on page 450) Initiate a Near Due Inspection for Aircraft 1 Open the Aircraft VED (see "Open a VED" on page 342). 2 Right-click the Modex and choose Initiate, then Inspections/Removals, and select Aircraft Inspections. 3 On the Inspections - Aircraft window, enter the Modex and BUNO/Serno for a specific aircraft. For all aircraft, leave the BUNO/Serno field blank. 4 Select the specific intervals (Days, Hours, Events, and Phase) or leave them blank for all intervals and click Retrieve. Note: If you select the IMC/SDLM option, a list of IMC inspections that are due appears. 5 The lower portion of the window displays the inspections and its related information based on the criteria used. 6 To issue the inspection work order, select the specific inspection and click Initiate. 7 The Control JCN appears alongside the Print prompt. Note 1: When you initiate the IMC/SDLM inspection and the information message appears to prompt the user that 'Initiation of IMC inspection requires a change in XRAY status. Contact Logs & Records Administrator' appears after the JCN assignment. Note 2: When the Attention box prompts you that there is no work center assigned to perform the selected inspection, go to Table Maintenance menu and select Inspection Work Center and assign a work center for the inspection.
