Common Utilities and Functions in Explorers and Catalogs Common utilities are special functions within the application that are used to update the databases. For instance, to update portions of an explorer or catalog regarding baseline changes, an update utility such as Update Usage Parms from Baseline or Add New/Update Tasks from Baseline. Functions are those specific pre-programmed tasks that affect and control the tree views or data windows. These utilities and functions are accessible from the main menu or as toolbar buttons that appear in specific windows, respectively. For descriptions and procedures, see the applicable topics listed under "In This Section." 130 User Guide Optimized NALCOMIS OMA CGPN Exceptions The CGPN Exceptions window displays all the CAGE and Part Number (CGPN) combinations that are documented on work orders in the foundation tier (organizational maintenance, intermediate maintenance, and depot maintenance levels). These CGPNs are in the system but are not part of the inventory item's baseline structure. If the part number and CAGE are legitimate, they can be added to the Parts Catalog. This window enables personnel from the foundation tier to view and delete the CGPN Exceptions list. If the part is legitimate, personnel must inform the BLM, who creates the part and includes it in the database. Records on the exceptions list are purged after the BLM adds them to the CGPN table or after a period of 90 days. Users can also perform common utilities and functions. For procedures, see Common Utilities and Functions in Explorers and Catalogs (on page 129). Note: A report is available in CM Reports that captures all applicable CGPN exceptions used by an organization. The following toolbar buttons are available: Toolbar Button \ Right-click Option Action Delete CGPN Exceptions Deletes a selected CGPN exception. Create Part Displays the Part [NEW] dialog box. Restore CGPN Exception Restores the previously deleted part. The CGPN Exception Update can be accessed from all explorers and catalogs from the main Configuration Management and Logs & Records window. 1 Go to the Utilities menu and select CGPN Exception Update. The CGPN Exceptions window appears with a list of all CAGE and Part Number combinations. Selecting the box under the list shows only the items pertaining to a specific BLM. 2 For procedures, see the applicable topic listed under "In This Section." Create Part The Create Part option from the CGPN Exceptions window enables you to select from a list a CAGE and Part Number combination to be added to the Parts Catalog.
