Unformatted text preview: ration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem Description.......................................................127 Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem Description This subsystem enables authorized users to maintain configuration profiles on aircraft, engines, propellers, modules, and components assigned to the maintenance activity. These configuration profiles are found in various explorers or catalogs within the Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem. All areas of the Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem are SMQ controlled. In the WAN Explorer, only the Local Address Book can be updated. IP address changes must be submitted to SPAWARSYSCOM to be added to the Navy-wide listing. The Reference Term Editor, Assembly Catalog and its subsystem, the Assembly Explorer, deal with platform baseline data and can only be updated by SPAWARSYSCOM. Without proper SMQs, a user can only view these areas. The heart of the Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem is the Group and Inventory Explorers, where most of the activity's transactions occur. Activity personnel can perform updates to these areas. Users can access the Logset Explorer from the Inventory Explorer. They can also access the Assembly Explorer from the Assembly Catalog. 128 User Guide Optimized NALCOMIS OMA How to Access the Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem On the NALCOMIS OMA window: Click Configuration Management . -orGo to the File menu, choose Open, and select Configuration Management.
