This tab is associated to the Details tab Completion Reflects the date when a task must be completed. Assign Next Task Status The Next Task Status option on the Inventory Explorer Tasks tab enables you to assign the next task status for a selected inventory item. The system automatically assigns the next task status in the following manner: Pending to Active, Active to Complete. 1 Open the Inventory Explorer (see "How to Access the Inventory Explorer" on page 193). 2 Click the inventory item in the tree view to display the related tasks on the Tasks tab. Chapter 4 Configuration Management and Logs & Records Subsystem 221 3 Right-click the task on the Tasks tab and select Next Task Status, or click the task item on the Tasks tab and Next Task Status button . If the last task status is PEND, the Task Status Authorization dialog box appears. 4 Type an optional brief narrative in the Note field and click OK. If the last task status is ACTV, the Password Verification window appears. 5 Type your user ID and password and click OK. When completed, the Tasks tab indicates the new task status ACTV for the selected task. The task status COMPLETE appears for the historical task. Password Verification This dialog box enables you to only change the ACTV (active) status to COMP (complete). The Task Status Authorization dialog box is used for other status changes. For procedures, see Assign Next Task Status (on page 220). Suspend Task The Suspend Task option on the Inventory Explorer Tasks tab enables you to suspend tasks that are on ACTV status. 1 Open the Inventory Explorer (see "How to Access the Inventory Explorer" on page 193). 2 Click the inventory item in the tree view to display the related tasks on the Tasks tab. 3 On the Tasks tab, select one or more task items. See Quick Select Tips (on page 22). 4 Right-click any selected task and select Suspend Task, or click the item and Suspend Task button . The Task Status Authorization dialog box appears with Suspend as the default status. 5 Type an optional narrative in the Note field and click OK. When completed, the Tasks tab displays the new task status for the selected tasks.
