Focus on situations 1-3 on pages 336-337 and Examples 9.1-9.5 on pages 338-341. Section 9.3 What a sampling distribution is (see page 345). See the Summary, page 348. Section 9.4 The sampling distribution of the sample proportion p ˆ and the conditions for it to be about normal (see page 350) Recognize and know the difference between sd( p ˆ ) and s.e.( p ˆ ) (see page 353 bottom and top of page 354) Section 9.5: Notation for the difference p 1- p 2 of two population proportions Notation for the difference 1 1 ˆ ˆ p p - of two sample proportions
