Esther Jean Louis Physics 2048L Summer 2020 Unit 5 Lab:Determining the Acceleration due to Gravity and the Spring constant This experiment is about static equilibrium, elasticity, and oscillations. This experiment was done with the intent to find the acceleration due to gravity of a pendulum and the spring constant of a rubber band. This experiment used a pendulum attached to a table using duct tape and two rulers. I measure the period of the pendulum for twenty swings. And my percentage error was very low for all five trials that I did. For 3 of my trials he percentage error was 1.0% and for 2 of them it was 5.3%.For the second part of this experiment I used a rubber band, twelve heavy washers, and six inches of string to calculate the spring constant of the rubber band. I had a percentage error of 84.8% fr this part of the experiment.
