ETL ( Extraction, transformation, and loading) Is a process that extracts information from internal and external databases, transforms the information using a common set of enterprise definitions, and loads the info into a data warehouse Data mart: contains subset of data warehouse info. Data warehouses organizational focus Data marts focused info subsets particular to a business unit i.e. finance, production.
