The story of the six-shooter Guns before were cumbersome and often took a long time to prepare for shooting o The Texas problem o Samuel Colt Modeled the first revolving pistol as a young man, then started  making and selling these first rapid-fire weapons. The Texas rangers were the first to use them, and found them  very effective in battle.  They became more widely known after  the Mexican war, which brought Colt back into business after the  government put in its order. Fencing Kansas farmers couldn’t find rocks or trees to use for building fences; bushes didn’t work to keep the cattle out— they would chew through them. J.F. Glidden invented barbed wire for this purpose. o
