Iron Deficiency2There are many different types of nutritional disorders that people may have in their life.One of those could be iron deficiency anemia.This is one of the most common nutritionalproblems that you may find within the United States (Institute of Medicine Committee, 1993).This disorder is a condition that the blood lacks the proper amount of healthy red blood cells("Iron deficiency anemia", 2016).With this disorder about 10 million people are iron deficient inthe United States and 5 million of those people have iron deficiency anemia (Killip, Bennett, &Chambers, 2007).It has been found that 2% of this is found in adult men, 9-12% occurs in non-Hispanic white women, and almost 20% in black and Mexican American women (Miller, 2013).This disorder can be caused by many different things.Blood loss can cause someone to loss a lotof iron, like GI bleeding, menstrual bleeding or an injury.The excess loss of blood can causesomeone to have iron deficiency anemia.Also, a change within the body could cause this aswell.
