Abraham Lincoln and his wife and a nother couple who were hi sguests made their way to the presidential box. Someone in the theatre sspotted the lincolns as they made their way into the theatre. Lincoln sat down in the boxin a rocking chair prvided for him in a theatre. A little while later a guard went to see one of his friends. During the third act of the playt at about 1015 a man by the name of John wilkes booth (well known actor and confederate sympathizer). Booth presented a busness cad to a guard sitting outside. He creeped inand pulls out a a 1 shot pistol. And he shot Lincoln in the back of his head. Booth pulled out a dagger and cut major wrathbone. Booth leaps over therailing of thebox onto the stage. He caught a spur on theback of his booth and landed awkwardly and broke hisleg. He limps across the stage and then shouts out “ Thus always to tyrants”( Virginia motto). Hops onto a horse and disappears. They carry Lincoln down the stairs and bring him across the street in a small house where he is put into a bed ( he was too tall for the bed). Dies at 7:22AM. Union troops engage in a massgive manhunt for john wilkes booth killed him in a bar where he was hiding out. Legacy of the Civil War- Severely damaged southern cities. The civil war killed over 600,000 Americans.
