Lab Partner: Section: Date: 03/04/08 The Scalar Product Abstract: The objective of this experiment was to study the scalar product of two vectors, and also recognize the concept of work. The main concept achieved by this lab was to know that to find the work done on an object you must multiply the force acting upon that force by a distance. Our results were fairy accurate; we obtained a total net work of .0010J, when our accepted value is 0 J. We also obtained forces on each end of the circle that were the opposite of each other, indicating our experiment was fairly accurate (for instance, our first three forces were 2.7N, 4.3N, and 5.4N, while our last three forces were 2.8N, 4.3M and 5.4N). Theory: To complete this lab, we had to first draw a semicircle on a long piece of paper and divide into 6 pieces, then measure the amount of force it took to stretch a spring to each of the six sections. Next we measured the chord length in the semicircle between the six pieces and measured the angle between the six pieces. As we move across the semicircle and our angle is
