1Historical Analysis Essay Progress Check 1 Introduction:The Irish Potato Famine also known as the Great Hunger spread rapidly affecting several counties of Ireland. Ireland was troubled from 1846 to the early 1850’ when a huge infestation ofpotato crop caused a tremendous hardship on the poor troubling their diet. This catastrophe caused Ireland to lose nearly 15 percent of its population. Between 1845 and 1855 more than 1.5 million adults and children left Ireland to seek refuge in America. Irish immigrants endured a many of troubles, before they left to migrate as well as after their arrival to America. Not only were the Irish Immigrants poor they were very unskilled as well.
