Dollar General has more than 16,000 stores in 46 states, and it is the king of the growing dollar store theme in the U.S. By comparison, CVS only has 6,200 storesin the U.S., Home Depot 2,200 US stores, Kroger 2,757 US stores, Target 1,850 US stores, and Walmart only has 4,754 US stores. The company currently has no international locations and is not entirely in all 50 U.S. states, only operating in 46 states. Dollar General has been growing at a fast speed with no signs of slowing down. Dollar General has grown so much that it has even eclipsed two of the most-stored brands in the sector: McDonald's and Starbucks, which have around 14,146 and 14,711 US locations.
