dehydrogenase inside Mt: lots of CO2, high conc. of
NADH from Kreb's cycle. -inside mitochondria has small
pool size of NAD+, so Mt won't let
NAD+ diffuse out into cytosol
--> reduce oaa down to Malate, so it
can diffuse out to cytosol -inner membrane: need transfer protein to help
