Name: Jason Vazquez Partner: Xing Lin TA: Faisal Yaqoob Experiment #4 Ohm’s Law Equations: (1) B = μI/2πr (2) F = ILB (3) F = (μ/2π)(L/r)(I^2) (4) r = d + [h (up) – h (down)] [l (pivot – wire) / 2L(mirror – meter stick)] (5) F = (μ/2π) (L/r) (I^2) = mg Theory: Determining the weight of the staples by measuring the mass of 210 staples, then dividing by the amount of staples, determine the mass of each staple. Using equation (5) determine the μ. Use the equation (4) to determine the r for equation (5). Procedure: 1. Adjust the wires so that they are separate by about half a centimeter. 2. Turn on the laser and adjust the meter stick so that the laser reflects and hits the meter stick. 3. Measure the distance between the centers of the two wires, determining the r of the equation. 4. Pushing the upper wire to touch the lower wire to measure the h (down). Once the system balances, you can note the h (up). 5. Use the caliper to measure the diameter d of one wire.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
